Welcome!

Welcome to the official home page for a custom 1957 Chevy 3100 pickup called Blade!  In similar fashion to the superhero’s history, this 1957 project was once considered not worth the investment; that is before it fell into the hands of the right family.  After solidifying the vision for Blade, it was turned over to my Uncle (Robert Walker), a master craftsman in the auto body repair industry, who worked his magic to make something from nothing and bring my vision to reality…and then some!   For anyone who has ever owned a black automobile, you know that black can either show every imperfection….but on the contrary this old ’57 showcases 50+ years of auto body experience necessary to reach “perfection”.  Yes I admit, one could argue I’m a little biased when it comes to judging my uncle’s work, however after seeing the overwhelming response & admiration for the project at classic car shows, it certainly confirms the attention to detail and level of quality is second to none.  Considerable contributions were made by my father (Lee Walker) master mechanic and cousin (Al Walker) known for laying down some slick paint jobs.  Passion for cars run deep in the Walker lineage. That said, Blade isn’t the first notable project to come out of Walker’s Body Shop in Marion, IN.  My father has a few tricks in the bag (e.g. ’54 Buick Roadmaster and two rare ’67 Plymouth Sports Fury III’s, one hardtop and the other a convertible) that might turn a head or two.
